Today’s prompt – start with a time of day. This one is based off of how I feel when I wake up in a thunderstorm. Do you ever feel like it’d ruin the sacredness of the world renewing itself if you turned on the light when it was raining? Maybe it’s just me and I’m weird, but that’s how I feel.
Lazy Rainy Morning –
I woke up at eight
To see the world melting.
The sky was charcoal grey,
And down the rain was pelting.
I didn’t get up; I just moved my head
To look out my streaky window.
If it was up to me, I’d stay in bed,
But I have things to do and places to go.
I don’t have to do them yet,
So I lazily view the sight
Of branches bouncing, dripping wet.
I don’t want to turn on the light.
I feel that it would be a sin
To switch on my lamp right now.
I should be considerate and keep it dim;
The world is still asleep, judging by the clouds.
